Previous to 1790 Gomme was a partner with Lawrence Gomme in a similar type of business.

An example on a three-drawer bow-fronted chest is dated 1790 and another label is known dated 1789 [Weaver, High Wycombe Furniture, 1929, p. 12; V&A archives].
