Henry Goertz, b. Windsor, 1811, is listed in the 1851 census living at 18 Park Street and working as cabinet maker and upholsterer. Directories of 1869 onwards record his work address as 3 High Street.
Advertisements in the local press, 1880-1900, show the firm of H. Goertz & Son, upholsterers and undertakers, with a royal warrant and supplying patent woven mattresses to Windsor Castle [Windsor Gazette, 5 July 1890].
The Royal Collection holds three occasional mahogany tables (RCIN 57975), probably dating to late 19th century, click here and a pair of painted armchairs (RCIN 20768) painted at the request of Queen Mary by Lady Kinloch's Painted Furniture Industry, click here. These are all marked H.L. Goertz, Henry Louis, son of Henry senior.
