Gillett, John

London; upholsterer (fl.1820-45)

On 31 May 1820 took out insurance cover of £400 on household goods at his dwelling, 37 Argyle Street. At the same time a separate policy was issued in the names of John Gillett and Robert Atkins, cabinet maker and upholsterer at the same address. This covered stock, utensils and goods to the value of £800 and china and glass for an additional £200.  Possibly the same man recorded as a cabinet maker at 12 Fetter Lane, Fleet Street in the London Post Office Directory 1845.
