The firm was founded in 1899. By 1901 it was trading at 85 Oxford Street and described as ‘Dealers in Antique & Modern Furniture, Artistic Decorators and Upholsterers’. The firm were decorators to King George V. Addresses used by the firm up until their demise about 1958 were 25-26 George Street, Hanover Square; 73-85 Oxford Street & 7 Soho Square; Dean Street and Arlington Street; 31 East 57th Street, New York. Their showrooms were furnished in various periods and after 1900 advertised furniture in the Empire and Regency styles. Queen Mary was said to be a customer. They exhibited and advertised widely in publications such as Country Life and the Burlington Magazine. The firm designed and furnished the Royal Apartments at the Wembley Stadium for the Empire Exhibition in 1924-25. Later had showrooms in New Oxford Street, at which time F. W. Everard was a Director.
