The Furniture Gazette, 24 November 1883, recorded a bill of sale (i.e., security) for £65 to D. Lee, filed on 8 November 1883. The firm had filed for liquidation on 31 December 1883, which was followed by a creditors’ meeting on 18 January 1884 [The Furniture Gazette, 19 & 26 January 1884]. James Gaymond & Sons was recorded at 30 Hargreaves Street & 60 Lloyd Street, Hulme, Manchester in the 1880s.

Agius stated that the firm was operating in the 1890s and were known as patentees of a combined brace and double lock jointed chair.

An invitation to a special view of the firm's upholstered suites (above) dated c. 1910, is included in the Graham Gadd Archive (NMS). The business is described as wholesale furnishing manufacturers, Atlas Works, New Street, Miles Platting, Manchester.
