Notice in London Evening Post, 10–12 January 1751, that ‘On Wednesday night Mr. Fowler, a Cabinetmaker, in Whitechapel, was attacked near Whitechapel Church by three fellows, but making resistance and several Persons coming to his Assistance they were pursued, and one of them taken in Red Lion Street and on Thursday committed to Newgate.’
