Foulke (1660)
Foulke, -
Wales; joiner (fl.1660)
In 1660 Sir Roger Mostyn was asked by his friend Sir Richard Wynn to have new tables made for Gwydir in the Conwy valley. However, ‘ffoulke the joiner’ was unable to go to Gwydir because ‘hee is growen soe old and Crazie’ and preferred to make the pieces at home. Mostyn asked for the dimensions required and offered to supply the timber from his own estate and have the tables sent to Gwydir.
