Ray Street, Farringdon Road, London; art furniture manufacturer and merchant (fl.1880-1890)
An advertisement in The Furniture Gazette, 10 July 1880, described Fletcher as an ‘Artistic Cabinet Manufacturer’, late of Liquorpond Street, and with illustrations of a sideboard, wardrobe & chimney/mantlepiece. He was listed in The Furniture Gazette: Classified List of the Furniture, Upholstery, and Allied Trades (1886).
Possibly the same John Fletcher (b.1821) or his son, also John (b. 1843), who working for Collinson and Lock, was listed as the maker of a shaped rosewood and ivory table, designed by G.J.S. Lock and exhibited by the firm at the 1890 Arts & Crafts Exhibition Society, London, 1890 (cat. no. 344).
