Finch, John (1722-1744)

Finch, John

Westminster, London; upholder and cabinet maker (fl.1722–44)

The son of the yeoman, John Finch of Hawstead, Suffolk, he was apprentice to Cullum Wicks on 7 March 1722, and admitted a freeman of the Upholders’ Comoany by servitude on 2 December 1730 [Guildhall Library, Upholders’ Co. records].

He was possibly the same cabinet maker, John Finch of Little Armoury, Westminster, London, who was declared bankrupt in 1744 [Gents Magazine, August 1744].
