W. H. Fell was listed in the 1845 London Post Office Directory at 7 St Agnes Terrace, Tabernacle Walk. By 1871 the partnership W. H. Fell & Company had relocated to 4 Rathbone Place [1871 Post Office Directory]. They advertised in The Furniture Gazette from 5 November 1881 with their advertisement in the 1 July 1882 edition declaring they had been established for forty years. In 1882 they were located at 73 Wenlock Street, New North Road, in addition to the former address [1882 Post Office Trades Directory].
They participated in the 2nd Furniture Trades Exhibition, Agricultural Hall, Islington, May 1882 [The Furniture Gazette, 25 March 1882].
On 3 September 1883 T. J. Beeaman (trading as W. H. Fell & Company) filed for liquidation of the business as carvers, gilders and moulding manufacturers, at Rathbone Place; Blackhorse Yard, Rathbone Place; The Grove, Southwark; and King Edward’s Road, Hackney. Subsequently a trustee was appointed [The Furniture Gazette, 22 September & 10 November 1883]. However, they were still listed in The Furniture Gazette: Classified List of the Furniture, Upholstery, and Allied Trades (1886) at 4 Rathbone Place & Black Horse Yard.
