Ebbutt, Alfred C.
Croydon, Surrey; furniture makers (fl.1877-1878)
He was listed at 20 High Street opposite the Town Hall, Croydon in The Furniture Gazette Directory, 1877. At the 1878 Paris International Exhibition he exhibited an oak cabinet inlaid with exotic woods with decorative allegories of Painting, Music and Literature, the four elements and the twelve signs of the Zodiac (illus. Meyer (2006), p. 257).
Ebbutt received an honourable mention for his cabinet and upholstery work at the Exhibition [The Furniture Gazette, 28 September 1878].
