Duffour, Joseph

London; frame maker, carver and gilder (fl. 1730–57)

In the 1730s he received £290 2s payment from Mary Sherbourne, Dowager Duchess of Norfolk for gilding and carving work at Firle Place, East Sussex [Dodd, p. 80]. 

In 1737 supplied Frederick, Prince of Wales, with a set of twelve frames, costing £97 7s. 

Bound an apprentice named Cook in 1743.

Recorded at Berwick Street in 1752. 

Provided carved and gilt picture frames to Petworth House, Sussex, between 1752–57 [Society of Genealogists apprentice index; Duchy of Cornwall office, Prince of Wales accounts, vol. 7, pp. 195–96; Apollo, May 1977, p. 362; Country. Life, 25 September 1980, p. 1030].
