Son of Charles and Mary Dempsey. Made Freeman of the City of Dublin as an Upholsterer by Service, Michaelmas 1755.
Recorded at Grafton Street, 1762-70, while in business with his mother, Charles Dempsey’s widow; 32 William Street, 1771-90; 20 Cuffe Street, 1790-1; 28 Cuffe Street, 1792-5; 20 Cuffe Street, 1796-1814.
He was Master of the Upholders' Guild from 1780 to 1781.
His son, Langton Dempsey, was made Freeman of the City of Dublin as an Upholder by patrimony, Michaelmas 1789.
