Deeker (or Decker), James
59 Berwick Street, Soho, London; cabinet maker and backgammon and billiard table maker (fl.1780–81)

James Deeker's trade card at 59 Berwick Street, illustrates Hope and Chance, and states that he ‘makes E. O. tables in a New Construction, Billiard, King & Queen, Trone Madame, and Back-gammon Tables, in the neatest manner’, c.1780 [D,2.1252]. © The Trustees of the British Museum
There is an E. O. table in a room - apparently specially designed for it - at Alnwick Castle, Northumberland.
Deeker purchased a Sun Insurance policy in 1781 for £100 of which utensils and stock accounted for £50 [Guildhall Library, Sun MS vol. 288, p. 454; Banks Collection, British Museum].
