Day, Daniel (1790)
Day, Daniel, Mendlesham and Stoneham, Suffolk, chairmaker and carpenter (c. 1790). Thought to have lived and worked at a house in Fore St, and began trading as a wheel-wright. Credited with the Mendlesham pattern of Windsor chair, perhaps leading a Day ‘dynasty’ of chairmakers in Mendlesham. [V & A archives; Fastnedge, Sheraton Furniture, pl. 14; C.
