Made Freeman of the City of Dublin as an Upholder by Service, Easter 1767.  

Recorded at Britain Street, corner of Capel Street, 1769-74; 11 Henry Street, 1775.

Advertised in the Dublin Mercury, 2-4 March 1769: ‘Now selling at [George] Dalton's in Britain-street, corner of Capel-street, an extensive variety of goods in the house furniture trade, at prices considerably lower than usual, his beds, bedding and chairs as follows. Blue or green paragon, plain four post beds £8; paragon field beds £4 10s; cheque field beds from £3 5s to £3 15s; seasoned geese feather beds from £4 10s to £7; hair mattresses £l 16s; mahogany stuffed back chairs, with cheque covers £l 2s; mahogany parlour chairs covered with leather 16s 3d. ditto covered with horses hair 17s 6d; ditto cheque covers 15s 6d; rush bottom chairs from 3s 6d to 7s 7d - And every other article in the furniture way, on the most moderate terms, for ready money - Dalton returns his respectful and sincere thanks to those ladies and gentlemen, who have been pleased to deal with him and assures them it shall be his constant study to deserve their future favour’.
