Cox, William (1717-93)

Cox, William, Northampton and Daventry, Northants., carver and painter (b. 1717–d. 1793). Born 29 June 1717. Worked in London for part of his early career but most of his recorded work is in the county of Northants. In 1768 at Cock Lane, Northampton but also had property at Cow Lane, Daventry where he insured utensils and stock for £20 out of a total of £100 cover in 1778. Most of his work was probably in stone.
