J. Cooper was a supplier of bedroom suites to Heal’s, Tottenham Court Road, in 1900, 1910, 1925, 1930 and 1936. He made an inlaid mahogany toilet table, an inlaid oak toilet mirror and an inlaid mahogany wardrobe, both designed by Ambrose Heal, which were exhibited by Heal & Son at the 1910 Arts & Crafts Exhibition at prices of £28, £4 10s and £70 respectively (cat. nos. 308, 492 and 405). At the 1912 Arts & Crafts Exhibition a writing bureau and bookshelves in walnut, designed by Ambrose Heal and made by J. Cooper, were exhibited by the firm at £18 15s. J. Cooper also produced Heal’s unpolished oak table design ‘242’ in 1928/29.
