Cooke, Thomas

Cheltenham, Gloucestershire; cabinet maker, upholsterer, warehouseman (fl. 1818–30).

In 1818 he advertised that he had warerooms at Portland Passage and declared himself a ‘cabinet & upholstery manufacturer to his Highness, Duke of Gloucester’.

By the 1820s he was in partnership with John Cooke but the business was declared bankrupt on 21 December 1824. Trading again in 1830 at 1 Bedford Buildings, also as ‘manufacturer of patent elastic stuffing’ [Liverpool Mercury, 31 December 1824].
