Constable, John, London, upholder (1758–1802). Son of John Constable, freeman harberdasher of London. App. to William Boulter, freeman basket maker 26 October 1750. Free of the Upholders’ Co. under the 1750 Upholders’ Act, 29 December 1758. At Gravil Lane, Houndsditch in 1772 and Bell-alley, Coleman St in 1778. He is first recorded in directories in 1782 at 14 Cullum St and continued at this address until 1788. In 1794 and 1802 recorded at Northampton.
