Clissett, Phillip

Bosbury, Herefordshire (West Midlands region); chair maker and turner (fl.1851-1881)

Listed at 37 Stanley Hill, Bosbury (1851, 1861, 1871 & 1881 Census).

Phillip was 44 years of age in 1861. His brother in-law was the chair maker, William Cole.

Two chairs bearing the stamp 'P.C.' are in the Cotton Collection, Museum of the Home, London:

• A high, single-row, spindle-back armchair with a wooden seat
