Carter, John

Dean Street, Westminster, London; cabinet maker (fl.1700-1713)

Carter was one of Elzabeth Seymour, Duchess of Somerset's regular cabinet makers from 1700, making many items for her lodgings, including 'A Glasse in a Walnutree frame for hamton Corte' [sic] at £7 and a 'cabbonett with Glass dores' and gilded brass-work at £12, as well as refurbishing existing furniture.
