Eldest son of William Buist, cm, of 10 Queen St, Grosvenor Sq., and bapt. on 5 June 1804 at the Scots Church, Crown Ct, Russell St. His own children were bapt. in 1834, and 1836–38, at St John the Evangelist, Smith Sq., Westminster.
