Brissenden purchased a Sun Insurance policy in 1777 for £900, of which £750 accounted for utensils and stock [The London Archives (TLA), Sun MS vol. 258, p. 510].

He was declared bankrupt [Williamson's Liverpool Advertiser, 29 October 1792].
