The firm was listed in The Furniture Gazette Directory (1876 & 1877) as cabinet makers and bed, mattress & bedding manufacturers at 167 & 169 Union Street, Borough.
The Furniture Gazette, 5 January 1878, published an advertisement for the firm, which gave a new address of Great Eastern Street, Curtain Road.
The Furniture Gazette (21 July 1883) noted that Boys & Spurge, cabinet makers, upholsterers, looking glass manufacturers, perambulator and bedding manufacturers had moved to larger premises at 79 Great Eastern Street with a factory at Amobyna Works, Willow Street, Finsbury. The firm was listed in The Furniture Gazette: Classified List of the Furniture, Upholstery, and Allied Trades (1886) as cabinet makers at Great Eastern Street.
The Graham Gadd Archive (NMS) includes three bills for Boys & Spurge, dating 1887-1909, all with the same billhead for the firm of wholesale cabinet makers, upholsterers, bedding and perambulator makers at 79 Great Eastern Street, London. The bill of 1909 (above) is for a perambulator with dark green wheels, price £1 17s 6d.
