Haverfordwest, Pembrokeshire, Wales; cabinet maker (fl. 1844-68)
Recorded in Pigot’s Directory of 1844 as a cabinet maker in Bridge Street. Hunt’s Directory of 1850 gives the address as Market Street and in Slater’s Directory 1868 he was listed at the same address as cabinet maker, upholsterer and decorator. Later moved to High Street; a chest of drawers has been recorded bearing a stencilled or stamped mark: ‘W. BLETHYN CABINET MAKER Upholsterer and Undertaker HIGH ST, HAVERFORDWEST’ (illus. Bebb (2007), fig. 253). The name of the business was given as ‘HAVERFORDWEST & SOUTH WALES CABINET & UPHOLSTERY ESTABLISHMENT’.
