Blake, James 

12 Berwick St, London, cabinet maker and upholder (1816–23).

Took out Sun Insurance policies on 23 January 1823 for £400, and on 12 March 1823 for £300, utensils and stock accounting for £150. A music canterbury in mahogany is inscribed in pencil on the underside of a drawer ‘Jas. Blake 1818’. Sold Christie’s 21 June 1990, lot 78 and illus. Gilbert (1966), fig. 130.
