Probably the same John Birt recorded at 19 Oxford Street (1785–87), when he purchasing a Sun Insurance policy on 16 July 1785 on household goods; £200, utensils, stock; and goods in trust, £600, and on two houses communicating in Portman Street, household goods and utensils, £360 [Guildhall Library, Sun MS vol. 331, p. 285].

Declared bankrupt [Gents Magazine, September 1787].
