Bedford, Benjamin, Pall Mall, London, upholder (1690–1709). Admitted freeman of the Upholders’ Co. on 7 August 1700. Took out a Hand in Hand Insurance policy on 6 December 1703 for £500 on a house in Pall Mall ‘being his now dwelling house & in his own possession for 7 years’. Notice in the London Gazette, 9 September 1709 that ‘The Commissioners in a Commission of Bankrupt awarded against Benjamin Bedford, late of Pall Mall, Upholsterer, intend to meet …’.
