A billhead (above) dated 1876 for William Baker, cabinet maker, upholsterer and appraiser at 1 Broad Street, Oxford, for a five foot hair mattress (price £3 15s), is included in the Graham Gadd Archive (NMS). The same archive also includes a bill for re-upholstering chairs, dated 1875.

Recorded in The Furniture Gazette (22 June 1878) as exhibiting furniture at the 1878 Bath and West of England Agricultural Society’s Show, held in Oxford.

Probably the same W. Baker of Oxford, who Agius listed as a maker of sectional bookcases.
