Recorded in The Furniture Gazette (29 April 1882) participating in the May 1882 Furniture Exhibition at the Agricultural Hall. Further descriptions and illustrations of their exhibits featured in The Furniture Gazette (6 & 13 May 1882).
The firm advertised chairs for railway stations, hotel furnishers & others, and described themselves as ‘the noted west of England chair & sofa works...specialities in brown oak’ [The Furniture Gazette, 8 July 1882].
The Furniture Gazette, 7 October 1882, noted their pollard oak suites, especially ‘The Athenaeum’ and spoon back chairs, and the firm as makers of a drawing room suite in English or American walnut, or available in Spanish mahogany (illustrated).
They were also the makers of a patent easily adjustable armchair, which could be more easily adjusted than in the case of some others (illustrated) [The Furniture Gazette, 1 October 1885].
