Bailes, John,

434 Oxford St, London, bed joiner and carver (fl. 1780–1837)

Took out Sun Insurance policies in 1780 for £400 of which utensils, stock and timbershop accounted for £160; in 1786 for £600 of which utensils accounted for £320; in 1791 for £500 for house and goods only; and in 1792 for £1,000 of which goods and stock accounted for £270. Partnered with William Bailes between 1806 and 1837. Subscribed to Sheraton's Drawing Book, 1793.
