Austin, John (1704)

Austin, John

Cambridge; joiner (fl. 1704)

John Austin is presumably a relative of Cornelius Austin jnr. and snr. He supplied the fitted bookcases in Emmanuel College Library, Cambridge, about 1700, and in 1704 made a specimen cabinet for John Francis Vigani, first Professor of Chemistry at the University of Cambridge. The cabinet survives at Queens’ College, Cambridge.
