Appley, William

Lancaster, Lancs and Nottingham; cabinetmaker (fl.1749–98)

App. to R. Thorney in 1749 and admitted freeman, 1753–54. Moved to Nottingham in 1767-68 where he was when he became a Lancaster Freeman. On 31 July 1784 he advertised for a craftsman in the Nottingham Journal. [D; Lancaster app. reg., freemen rolls and poll bk]. Robert and William Appley were probably brothers.
