Ansell, William (1815-1877)

Ansell, William & James

Cambridge, Cambridgeshire; cabinet makers (fl.1815-77)

On 21 April 1815, William Ansell advertised his intention of going into partnership with the builder, John Bedells, but on 30 June he announced that the partnership was not going ahead and he would open a shop in Petty Cury on 8 July. After 1834 he traded from Fitzwilliam Street and Trumpington Street.

James Ansell, probably William’s son, was listed as cabinet maker at 75 Trumpington Street, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire in The Furniture Gazette Directory (1877).
