With W. Howard, Allen was recorded as the maker of a walnut sideboard, designed by Ambrose Heal, which was exhibited at Arts & Crafts Exhibition Society, 1912, at a price of £48 (catalogue no. 375). Allen continued to produce work for Heal’s after the commencement of the First World War including a mahogany china cabinet and stand exhibited by Heal & Son at the 1916 Arts & Crafts Exhibition Society at a price of £18 (catalogue no. 471).
