Adamson, Robert

Fenchurch Street, London; cabinet maker, joiner and mahogany turner (fl. 1751–66)

His trade card states that he ‘Makes all sorts of Cabinet Looking Glasses and Mahogany Goods at the lowest Prices. NB. Funerals perform'd & Goods Appraised’ [Metropolitan Museum, NY].

On 11 April 1766 he supplied Sir William Robinson of Newby Hall  with ‘Blinds for windows … curiously painted on canvas, silk or wire’ [Temple Newsam Exhibition, 1976, 21; Guildhall Library, City Licence books, vols 1 and 2].
